 On March 13th the Heidelberg Football Club playing group as well as a large contingent of supporters will travel to Hobart to take on reigning Premiers Clarence in the club's first official practice match of 2010.
This will be Heidelberg's second trip to Tasmania in as many years after taking on South Launceston back in 2009. The first trip was so successful that plans had already begun for another pilgrimage to the Apple Aisle midway through the 2009 season. The experience provides an oppurtunity for all players but particularly those new to the club to get to know their fellow teammates which will no doubt prove to be beneficial both on and off the field in 2010. We would like to thank both the Clarence Football Club for taking us up on the offer after we approached them last year as well the North Hobart FC for providing the magnificent venue. |

We would like to remind the many HFC followers that the Tigers will once again be making the pilgrimage to Tasmania, this time to play the reigning TSL Premiers Clarence. All supporters are encouraged to make the trip over. Please note that the HFC will be only booking flights for players, coaches and training staff. The training program below is recommended as a minimum for all players over the summer break. Minimum 15 sessions over the break (approximately 3 per week)Running – 30 to 40 minute run (minimum of 6 kilometres) If possible undertake a period of fartlek as part of the run. For example- during the run undertake between five and ten 30 second strides with a 30 second slow recovery between each stride, this can be undertaken either in the middle portion or the end portion of your run. |
