With the midway point fast approaching Heidelberg remains undefeated 8 rounds in to the 2010 Division One season. In their most recent clash the Tigers took on old rival Montmorency at Warringal Park in the two club's first meeting since the 2009 second-semi final at Preston City Oval. Two young-guns made their debut for the seniors in Aaron Crispe & George Nabbout - both of whom had displayed exceptional form in the under 19's over the course of the year. Heidelberg has chalked up its seventh consecutive win of the year and 45th overall after a top of the table victory over West Preston Lakeside. The 16.22-118 to 10.9-69 win puts the Tigers 10-points clear on top spot. The win, which was again marred by inaccurate kicking was not an easy one for the reigning Premiers after trailing midway through the third time despite a blistering start. A seven goal to none final term was enough to get Heidelberg over the line, with a spectacular mark by Heidelberg ruckman Paul De Chellis being one of the many highlights. |

After a blistering start to the season the newly promoted Macleod have hit a wall in recent weeks after two consecutive losses to Greensborough and Montmorency respectively. The Tigers will feel somewhat lucky to have escaped with the points last week after trailing for much of the match against Northcote Park. It was only a 5-goal burst in time on of the final quarter that saved Heidelberg from their first defeat in over two years. The last time Macleod and Heidelberg met was 27 years ago - round 16 of the 1983 Division Two season. Heidelberg will go into the match with an unchanged lineup and will be looking to make the most of oppourtunities in front of goal after a disappointing 25 behinds against the Cougars. |

Heidelberg has continued its winning ways with a thumping 123-point win over the newly promoted Macleod. In what was the two club's first meeting since 1983, Heidelberg proved too strong in the end to run out convincing victors. The 25.16-166 to 6.7-43 was Heidelberg's sixth win of the year putting the unbeaten Tigers 6 points clear on top spot. The bulk of the scoring was shared while both Danny Nolan & Saul Caddy did most of the damage up forward with five each. 2009 Best & Fairest winner Jake Williams put in a stellar performance and was named Heidelberg's best. Other notable contributors included Josh Houlihan who starred in what will most likely be his final game in yellow & black as well as Brett Dobson, Anthony Franchina and Jess Sinclair (pictured). |

HEIDELBERG has had its closest result of the season with an 18-point victory over a determined Northcote Park. The Cougars led for all but 90 percent of the match before Heidelberg stormed home in time on of the final term to snatch a three goal victory from the hands of defeat. The 12.25-97 to 12.7-79 win was marred by inaccurate kicking including an incredible 1 goal 10 behind second term which almost cost the Tigers any chance of a victory. A six-goal final quarter was inspired by Justin Murphy who held off numerous opposition attacks while up forward Saul Caddy did the damage with three stunning last quarter goals. |
