This time a year ago Northcote Park started the season in perfect fashion, winning their first six games and setting up a top of the table clash at Warringal Park against the Tigers. A year later Heidelberg remains undefeated while Northcote Park have had a shaky start to their campaign after losing to Macleod in round one in what was considered a shock result. The Cougars appear to have hit good form however after comprehensively beating the previously undefeated West Preston at home last week and prior to that beating Lalor in a much closer contest. For the second week in a row Northcote will come up against an undefeated opponent - this time in the form of Heidelberg, a side that has not been beaten in over two years. |

Heidelberg traveled to Shelley Park for round 4 of the 2010 Division One NFL Season to take on North Heidelberg in the annual "Derby". The Tigers maintained their unbeaten run in recording their fourth win of the year and are now the only undefeated side in the senior competition. The 17.17-119 to 11.11-77 victory was not all one way traffic with the Doggies mounting numerous challenges throughout the afternoon. Jason Kennedy played his first game for the year after Adam Symes was a late withdrawal due to injury. In windy conditions a six-goal second term provided the framework for the victory as Heidelberg went into the half-time break with a strong 35-point lead. The second half however proved a test as Heidelberg could only gain an eleven point advantage to finish the match 42-point winners. |

The Tigers are back at Warringal Park for round 3 of the 2010 NFL season and will take on Greensborough, who will be looking for their first win of the year after losing to Eltham and West Preston respectively. In their opening game of the year Greensborough took it up to the Panthers only to fall short by 9-points and last week the Slime took on West Preston at home but were beaten by 50-points in a somewhat disappointing display. The Borough have not beaten Heidelberg since the inception of the Northern Football and over the past three seasons the Tigers have won by an average of 90 points, in fact their last win over Heidelberg was back in round 9 of the 2002 season. |

The 22.14-146 to 6.7-43 is the Tigers' biggest win of the year and third overall in 2010. The big win was setup in the opening term with the Tigers blitzing Greensborough to go into the quarter time break with a 44-point lead. From then on Heidelberg did not look troubled and extended their lead at every change. |

Heidelberg travelled to Bundoora on Saturday to record a comfortable 56-point win against the 2009 runner up. In what was a rematch of the 2009 Division One Grand Final the Tigers proved too strong an opponent for Bundoora, with both sides fielding vastly different sides to those that took the field last September. The 14.18-102 to 6.10-46 win was Heidelberg's 11th in a row over Bundoora who have not beaten Heidelberg since the 2006 second-semi final. |
