This Saturday Heidelberg will take on North Heidelberg in what promises to be a defining game of the 2009 Northern Football League season. Both sides are coming off reasonable victories and while Heidelberg look to maintain their unbeaten run the Doggies will aim to cement their spot in the top four. North Heidelberg have been the only side in 2009 to keep the reigning premiers under 100 points and in their last meeting were only 15 points behind when the final siren sounded, Heidelberg's closest finish so far. |

Heidelberg has beaten Montmorency in what was a re-match of the 2008 Northern Football League Grand Final. The convincing 99-point win was played in perfect conditions for local football however the visitors could not get near the reigning Premiers who put together four quarters of complete football. Heidelberg made two changes for the much anticipated clash with Hall and Dale Nolan sidelined due to injury while both Aron Burns & Shiels were welcome inclusions. A nine goal third term was the highlight of a clinical performance from the well drilled Heidelberg who now turn their attention to North Heidelberg at home. The main game got off to a fierce start with both teams throwing themselves at the ball at every opportunity. |

Benno's finest hour arguably came back in 2000, when under the guidance of Shane Delanty helped Heidelberg achieve its first taste of Premiership glory in 10 years and first reserves Premiership since 1981 when the club was hovering in division two. |

HEIDELBERG'S march into September has begun with the Tigers recording a comfortable 97-point victory over former nemesis Bundoora in what was the senior side's 33rd consecutive win, a new northern league record.
In what has traditionally been a bitter rivalry, the Bulls could not keep up with the fast paced Tigers who kicked the first seven goals of the match and ultimately ended any hopes Bundoora had of securing the lucrative double chance. |

A RAMPAGING Heidelberg outfit has ended the slim finals hopes of former 90’s powerhouse Lalor. The 31.24.210 to 5.4.34 victory is the Tigers biggest win of the season and 31st win on the trot. The Lalor side appeared to be undermanned, missing the likes of Whitnall and Shepherd who both helped get the jump on Heidelberg during the round 6 clash but at the end of the day the result was all but a formality with the reigning premiers clearly the better drilled side.
