History facts Heidelberg Football Clubs original home ground was located at Heidelberg Park. After a recess during the World War II, the club moved across Beverley Road to the current address at Warringal Park.
The Club colours are the famous yellow and black. To our supporters, we are known as the Tigers. The proud spirit at Heidelberg has much to do with its family history and strong community ties. Current identities at the club are fourth generation names such as Twomey, Sheahan and Heffernan, known for their involvement in the football club and the community. Warringal Park oval is one of the more Premier grounds in the Diamond Valley Football League. Native flora & fauna facts
The area is part of the Banyule Flats 1.5km "Main Yarra Trail" walk and bike track. Surrounded by Yellow Gum, it is also home to a wide range of native wildlife including: 224 species of native birds, 23 kinds of reptiles, 22 mammal species, 12 types of frogs, 9 species of native fish and an enormous number of invertebrates. The area supports the Eltham Copper Butterfly and is an important feeding area for the endangered Swift Parrot when the Yellow Gums flower in winter.
